The subject that will be discussing in this essay is about the project of “Jakarta Contemporary Art Center”. It’s an art center that build from beginning in purpose for analyzing and maintaining the growth of contemporary art. Basically the term of contemporary refers to persons, events, or movements that overlapped in time. The main purpose of this art center is to build awareness and to introduce contemporary art to Indonesian and international society. This art center offers all the information about contemporary art in past, present, and future. In planning and designing this art center is done by analyzing based on city scale, environment, and site. Based on the analyzed, it does attract the needs to find the solution to build this art center by using the appropriate planning and designing technique. Mixed used concept will developed to minimize the used of land. The artistic of the building form will become district’s focal point. The result of this project is one way to approach attention to mass community and also can be useful to build character of contemporary art to the society. By Jakarta Contemporary Art Center, hope Indonesian and international society can enjoy and satisfy their passion in the art of contemporary.
