Hubungan antara arsitek dan klien adalah salah satu permasalahan yang dihadapi arsitek dalam menjalankan pekerjaannya. Klien memiliki kebutuhan yang ingin diselesaikan oleh arsitektur, sedangkan arsitek memiliki idealisme dalam designnya. Dengan demikian, seringkali terjadi konflik ketika arsitek berkolaborasi dengan klien dalam proses perancangan. Proses kolaborasi yang tepat antara arsitek dan klien sebenarnya dapat menghasilkan ide-ide dan solusi yang dapat menjawab kebutuhan klien. Untuk menghasilkan arsitektur yang memenuhi kebutuhan kliennya, arsitek sebaiknya memposisikan diri setara dengan klien untuk mengedukasi kliennya The relationship of an architect and his/her cliens is a problem to be faced by architects in their jobs. Clients have certain needs they want to be solved by architecture, while architects have their own idealism in their designs. Therefore, conflicts occur during an architect’s work with his/her clients. Collaborative process is the teamwork of both the architect and his/her client. To create an architecture that serves the need of his/ her client, an architect must position him/herself equal with the client, therefore an architect is able to educate his/her client.
