Arsitektur memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kesehatan baik dari ranah fisik, mental, ataupun sosial. Kesehatan sendiri dapat dibagi menjadi dua model riset yaitu “pathogenesis” yang berpusat pada memahami penyebab dari penyakit dan “salutogenesis” yang berpusat pada memahami faktor yang menyebabkan seseorang menjadi sehat. Kedua model riset dirancang untuk saling melengkapi dalam hal merespon masalah kesehatan manusia secara holistik, namun dunia modern cenderung bergantung pada pendekatan pathogenesis. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini akan fokus terhadap mempelajari penerapan konsep salutogenesis pada arsitektur vernakular untuk diterapkan dalam perancangan arsitektur bagi masyarakat modern yang tinggal di kawasan industri perkotaan. Pada kasus ini, penelitian akan diterapkan dalam perancangan cultural center di sekitar kawasan Kampung Bali Bekasi. Penelitian berpusat pada studi literatur mengenai konsep salutogenesis dan arsitektur vernakular rumah Toraja dan Bali yang diteliti berdasarkan prinsip salutogenesis. Hasil dari analisis studi kasus berupa kriteria desain arsitektur berkonsep salutogenesis. Kriteria desain ini digunakan untuk merumuskan strategi desain perancangan cultural center. Hasil perancangan berupa sebuah cultural center berkonsep salutogenesis di sekitar kawasan Kampung Bali Bekasi. Cultural center akan mewadahi program fasilitas lokakarya seni dan budaya, meditasi, pertanian akuaponik, beserta dengan ampiteater multifungsi. Rancangan juga akan menghadirkan unsur kebudayaan dan alam dengan tujuan meningkatkan kualitas kesehatan manusia melalui konsep salutogenesis. Penerapan konsep salutogenesis pada perancangan cultural center diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat yang besar bagi masyarakat dengan meningkatkan kesehatan dan kesejahteraan penggunanya. / Architecture has a significant influence on health from a physical, mental, and social level. Health itself can be divided into two research models comprising of “pathogenesis” that focuses on understanding the cause of disease and “salutogenesis”that focuses on understanding the factors that cause health. Both of those research models are designed to work together in responding human health issues in a holistic manner, however the modern world tends to heavily rely on the pathogenesis approach. Therefore, this study will focus towards learning the implementation of the salutogenesis concept in vernacular architecture to be applied to architectural design for modern people living in urban industrial areas. In this case, the results of this study will be applied to the design a cultural center design around the Kampung Bali Bekasi area. The research focuses on a literature study regarding the concept of salutogenesis along with Torajan and Balinese vernacular architecture which is analyzed based on the principles of salutogenesis. The results garnered from the case study analyses will be shown in the form of a design criteria for salutogenic architecture. The design criteria will be used to formulate design strategies used to design the cultural center. The resulting design takes on the form of a cultural center with a salutogenesis design concept in the Kampung Bali Bekasi area. The cultural center will accommodate meditation, aquaponic farming, art and cultural workshop facilities, along with a multifunctional amphitheatre. The design will also implement cultural and natural elements with the purpose of increasing the quality of human health through the concept of salutogenesis. The application of the salutogenesis concept model in cultural center design is expected to provide great benefits for society by increasing the health and wellbeing of its users.
