Abstract
In the world of sports medicine, there has been a rapid development of science and technology in the last 20 years. Known as sport medicine, this is a medical specialty that deals with the treatment and prevention of injuries related to sports and fitness. Health care professionals working in this field focus not only on treating sports-related injuries, but also on injury prevention, rehabilitation, nutrition, and performance training to help athletes improve their performance. These specialized medical services can generally be found at facilities called Integrated Sport Medicine Centres. With the Covid-19 outbreak which is predicted to become one of the endemic diseases in the world, public health service facilities must quickly adapt to this new situation. This condition, coupled with the condition of the existing facilities, raises the need for a facility that can not only provide optimal sports medicine services, but also be able to adapt to endemic conditions in the future. This research offers a design strategy for the Integrated Sport Medicine Center facility based on the “Design Adaptability” principle, which is then applied to a plot of land in the Senayan area, Jakarta. By taking into account the physical and historical context of the region, programmatic and health demands, a public health service facility is produced that is simultaneously specialized but still adaptive and flexible.
