Perancangan arsitektur masjid memiliki tiga aspek, yaitu ruang fungsional, elemen simbol Islam dan kualitas ruang sakral. Namun, perancangan arsitektur masjid saat ini hanya menitikberatkan pada aspek ruang fungsional saja. Sedangkan, elemen simbol Islam dan kualitas ruang sakral tidak dieksplorasi lebih mendalam. Oleh karena itu, fenomena yang terjadi pada perancangan arsitektur masjid saat ini memiliki kemiripan dengan masjid lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi perancangan arsitektur masjid yang berfokus pada aspek kualitas ruang sakral. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan menganalisis melalui studi preseden pada Masjid Sancaklar dan Masjid Ash-Shobur dan studi kasus pada Masjid Al-Irsyad. Dari hasil analisis studi kasus dan studi preseden, dalam menciptakan kualitas ruang sakral harus terdapat perbedaan kualitas ruang. Perbedaan ruang tersebut adalah pergerakan dari kualitas ruang profan, ruang transisi, ruang sakral dan kualitas ruang sangat sakral. Dalam menciptakan masing-masing kualitas ruang tersebut, terdapat beberapa kriteria pembentuk ruang. Kriteria-kriteria tersebut terdiri dari elemen arsitektur, elemen arketipe dan athmospher ambiguities. Kriteria tersebut yang akan dijadikan dasar perancangan arsitektur masjid pada Masjid Al-Hidayah, Kabupaten Tangerang. / The architecture design of the mosque has three aspects, namely functional space, Islamic symbol elements and the quality of sacred space. However, the current architectural design of the mosque only focuses on aspects of functional space. Meanwhile, the elements of Islamic symbols and the quality of sacred spaces are not explored more deeply. Therefore, the phenomenon that occurs in the design of mosque architecture today has similarities with other mosques. This study aims to explore the design of mosque architecture that focuses on aspects of the quality of sacred spaces. The method used is a qualitative method by analyzing through precedent studies at the Sancaklar Mosque and Ash-Shobur Mosque and case studies at Al-Irsyad Mosque. From the results of the analysis of case studies and precedent studies, in creating the quality of sacred spaces there must be differences in the quality of space. The difference in space is the movement of the quality of profane space, transition space, sacred space and the quality of space is very sacred. In creating each of these spatial qualities, there are several spatial criteria. These criteria consist of architectural elements, archetypal elements and athmospheric ambiguities. These criteria will be the basis for the design of mosque architecture at Al-Hidayah Mosque, Tangerang Regency.
